April 5, 2012, Kyiv: the III Forum ‘AGRO-2012: Evolution of Agrarian Markets’, organized by Conference House and Agrarika took place. Participants discussed recent trends of the agrarian market, which are affecting the development of agro-industrial complex (AIC). Senior advisor of the strategic development department of IBcontacts Ms. Anna Pobedymska submitted her report entitled ‘Export and Project Financing under the Guarantees of Export Credit Agencies as a Tool of Attracting Foreign Loans in the Ukrainian Agricultural Sector: Features, Mechanisms and Requirements for Borrowers and Projects’. IBcontacts successfully launched the new service for Ukrainian and CIS companies – training sessions on attracting short-term finance. Experts from IBcontacts prepared a special training session for one of the largest confectionery factories in Ukraine. An important component of the training was a case study based on an analysis of company’s history of cooperation with suppliers and their customer company’s request concerning desired conditions of payment and, last but not least, the peculiarities of the market in which the company operates.

The Head of IBcontacts Legal Department Oleg Dorofeev launched the tradition of holding webinars by IBcontacts professionals. The first one in a series of webinars was held for the members of FCIB regarding “Doing Business in Ukraine”. Professionals in finance, credit and international business from all over the world participated in a two-day online seminar. The topic was of great interest, since many foreign companies face problems in their commercial transactions with Ukrainian partners. The situation is due to the fact that contracts are concluded not properly.

For the second consecutive year, IBcontacts Company has become the official media partner of Annual Russia & Eurasia Trade & Export Finance Conference, organized by a UK’s largest news agency Exporta. This year the event gathered leading experts on trade and export finance from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, as well as European countries, in order to discuss economic problems of the region and measure the influence of world markets on the region.

During such fabulous holidays as St. Nicholas Day, Christmas, and New Year, IBcontacts team participated in the “Dreams Come True!” project of Olena’s Franchuk “ANTIAIDS” foundation. The goal of the event was to make small dreams of HIV-positive children from all over Ukraine come true.

IBcontacts company came up with an idea to organize trainings for specialists of Ukrainian enterprises in order to acquaint them with the main factors of successful negotiations on the opening of a credit line, barriers, working principles and products of ECAs. Thus, the representatives of the companies will be able to get practical advice on how to deal with foreign suppliers and what to take into consideration during negotiations. This will allow the representatives of the companies to establish an efficient cooperation with foreign suppliers and step closer to foreign financing.

IBcontacts company has successfully closed a five-year Buyer’s Credit export finance deal for one of the leading confectionery factories in Ukraine ALC “ZhL”. IBcontacts was in charge of structuring the project, preparing analytical documentation (financial, marketing and legal analysis of the borrowing company business activity/project) and providing legal advising. This deal was nominated for the Deal of the Year 2011 annual award by such magazines as TFR (Trade & Forfaiting Review, London), Global Trade Review (London), and Trade Finance Magazine (London).

Second International Seminar: Trade and Project Finance featuring second largest in the world state Export Credit Agency (ECA) of the Netherlands Atradius Dutch State Business NV, international bank Rabobank, as well as the experts of IBcontacts company, engaged in the development of international trade, took place.
There are plenty of business events in Ukraine devoted to the different AIC activities. The distinctive feature of the AGRO forum is an integrated approach. The issues are considered from different perspectives: legal, finance, technology, innovation, management, doing business in general, etc. Annually the Forum gathers senior managers of largest agro holdings, food producers, representatives of developing agro-companies, as well as potential investors.
